Tom is a great person and a top-notch attorney. 1). THE SITUATION Four years ago, I made the mistake of retaining counsel who was the complete antithesis of Mr. Mallon. In short, he did harm, not good, and looked out for himself and not me. I confronted him about his performance in October 2020 (NOTHING was getting done, and yet the retainer constantly needed replenishing in $5,000 installments). In response, he quit in the midst of divorce proceedings, sent me a $13,000 bill, and confiscated roughly $15,000 in documents until he was paid. Well, he was never paid, and I never got my documents back. I had to start a year's worth of litigation from scratch, spending an additional $15,000+. This individual had committed a profoundly unethical act, which could lead to disbarment. In March 2024 (roughly 3.5 years later!), I was served with a lawsuit for the money I "owed" him – no case files returned, mind you. This is when I retained Mr. Mallon's services. 2). MR. MALLON'S PERFORMANCE Simply put, Tom is highly intelligent – a strategically minded attorney who acts deliberately and assertively, yet always in a most professional manner. Tom filed a motion to dismiss, along with a letter to opposing counsel, in which he made it very clear that they had two options: A). Desist in these bad faith proceedings, or; B). Go to trial and pay court fees. Ultimately, the Court granted our motion to dismiss and ordered the opposition to pay attorney's fees. Tom's handling of the matter was flawless. What's more, he was on point with other matters, such as their conduct: their repeated attempts to contact me instead of Tom. This is both unethical and prohibited. Tom was all over it. In short, Thomas Mallon is a gentleman and an attorney who will put your needs before his own. Thank you, Tom.
